AmWINS Creates Specialty MGAs

Global specialty insurance broker AmWINS has formed two new managing general agencies that will focus on the marine industry, AmWINS Specialty Logistics Underwriters (ASLU) and Sentinel Marine Underwriters (SMU).

ASLU will be based in Sunrise, Florida, and will be led by Executive Vice President Alex Rosas. It offers marine, cargo, and transport liability coverage for freight forwarders and third-party logistics operators. SMU will have offices in Houston, Texas, and New York, New York, led by Executive Vice Presidents Mark Bernas and Keith Blair, respectively. SMU offers marine and cargo insurance solutions for importers, exporters, manufacturers, and wholesalers.

AmWINS Group, Inc. is the largest independent wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products in the US, with more than 110 offices globally. The new agencies will be a part of the AmWINS Underwriting division. The policies will be issued by Argonaut Insurance Company on admitted paper and will be offered in all 50 states.
