National Data Call Issued for Terrorism Risk Insurance

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has announced that it is participating in a national data call to collect information on insurance policies related to terrorism risk insurance.

The data call affects insurers that write the following lines of business:

  • Commercial fire and allied lines
  • Commercial multiple peril
  • Ocean marine
  • Inland marine
  • Other liability (including standalone cyber policies)
  • Products liability
  • Boiler and machinery

Data requested includes policies written during the 2016 calendar year that pertain to coverage for acts of terrorism. The New York State Department of Financial Services will collect the data, and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) will assist in aggregating and analyzing the information.

Companies affected by the data call will receive a notification letter. All data requested must be submitted by September 30, 2017, through a portal on the New York State Department of Financial Services website. More information about the data call can be found on the NAIC website.
