50.2% of premium reported (30.3% of items) is attributable to renewal policies, 36.9% (36.1% of items) to new business, and 12.9% (33.6% of items) to non-policy transactions. Furthermore, non-policy transactions are predominately Premium Endorsements (27,217 items or 68.6% of the 33.6%) and Cancellations (10,158 items or 25.6% of the 33.6%).
The largest increase, Commercial Fire and Allied Lines coverage, rose $140.4M (or 53.2%). Builders’ Risk Property, Homeowners’, and Commercial Auto Liability coverages also recorded growth, up $69.7M (343.2%), $20.0M (73.5%), and $13.3M (24.5%) respectively. 84.0% of total premium increases can be attributed to these coverages.
Overall transactions reflected growth for November in item counts, up 10.6% when compared to November 2024. A 18.1% increase in policies filed (78,217) was recorded with average premium per item ($12,225) up 13.2% from November 2024. Record-keeping transactions (name, number, or insurer change endorsements; reversals; etc.) and cancellations were down 26.4% and up 21.7% respectively.
