The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that it has provided more than $1 billion to Texas counties and cities impacted by Hurricane Harvey since it made landfall in August of 2017.

The funds are disbursed through the FEMA Public Assistance grant program. More than 2,100 projects have received funding since Harvey. Grants can be awarded to states, local governments, and certain nonprofit organizations. Texas received funding directly and allocated resources to grant applicants.
