AIG Names Duperreault President, CEO

Insurance giant American International Group (AIG) announced Monday, May 15, 2017, that is has appointed Brian Duperreault as President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Director, effective May 14, 2017. He assumed the role from Peter D. Hancock, who stepped down after his successor was named.

Prior to joining AIG, Duperreault served as Chairman and CEO of Hamilton Insurance Group, a holding company based in Bermuda that has operations in Bermuda, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He also held executive-level positions at Marsh & McLennan Companies, ACE Limited, and with AIG and its affiliates.

“It is a privilege to return and lead AIG,” Duperreault said in a statement. “I look forward to building on AIG’s nearly 100-year heritage as one of the world’s leading insurers for its next century.”

AIG was founded in 1919 and has grown to offer services in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions. The organization provides property and casualty insurance, life insurance, retirement products, and other financial services.
